The ride, the snow, the early morning outing. The kiss.

I’m overwhelmed and feeling blissful as Knight’s tongue travels along the seam of my lips, gently asking for entrance. I grant it. I would give Knight anything he asked for right now.

I thought I loved him yesterday and all the days before. But today? Today, he’s shown me that he genuinely cares about us, and we’re not just some holiday fling. Not that I actually believed that, but I figured it was a possibility.

He’s doing everything a typical couple would before becoming committed to one another, only in reverse. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t loving every second of it either.

We’ve gone the last couple of years without seeing one another but still texting or calling frequently enough that the distance has worked to separate our familial relation. If we were closer in age, maybe it would have been different, but our age gap gives us this chance to be a couple instead of step-siblings.

Drawing away from Knight when I hear caroling, I gaze out the window as we round the cove's bend onto Joy Lane. Next to a grouping of trees is a small group of carolers surrounding a fire drum singing, “Oh Christmas Tree”, and I sigh.

“It’s a dream, Knight,” I whisper as I lean across his lap to wave at the choir. The children in the front return the greeting while continuing to sing as we move along. Snow begins to fall lightly, and I’m lost in the wonderland that is winter and Christmas.

I’ve always loved fresh snow wherever I’ve been but being home and with Knight makes it all the more magical.

“You’re the dream, Hols.” Lifting my face with a finger under my chin, he draws me in for another soul-searing kiss, and I can’t help the sigh that rushes out of me.

Picking me up by my hips, Knight pulls me onto his lap, where I can feel his length growing with urgency. Brushing his hands under my coat and shirt, Knight pushes them up my back, flexing his fingers into my shoulders and dragging me closer.

My hips begin a slow rhythm back and forth against him, getting us both worked up and ready to combust. I barely hear anything around us, so when someone clears their throat, we pull apart, and embarrassment creeps up my cheeks when I see we’re back at the cabin.

Knight only chuckles as we climb out of the compartment and thank them for the ride. “Come on, I have another surprise for you.”

Instead of taking me inside to finish what we’ve started, he leads me towards the SUV, where we drive into town.
